Growlie Prototype - Build C - Sketchup

Growlie Prototype - Build B - Laser Cut

This prototype design features a more stylish mortise and tenon pattern as well as a lid that fits nicely over the top of the carrier.  Future prototypes of the carrier will feature insulated sidewalls and solid wood construction.

Growlie Prototype - Build B - Laser Cut

Here is the laser cut version of the second prototype design.  Please note that all prototypes shown here are constructed with a 5mm plywood material.  The actual final build of this product will be constructed of solid wood that comes from managed sources that are eco friendly.  Please note that all prototypes shown here are constructed with a 5mm plywood material. Growlie Prototype - Build B Sketchup

This is the next prototype, designed in Google Sketchup.  The primary goal of this iteration was to recreate the paper drawn design on the computer to scale and then test cut the design using a low wattage laser cutter.  In this version we also included a handle and a change in the corner joints to ensure more stability for the sides.

Growlie Prototype - Build A

This was the first prototype that we assembled using had drawn sketches in the shop.  It was made using a band saw, a drill press and chisel.  As you can see, it has no handle and the corners are far from being stable enough for useage.  The primary goal of this build, was to ensure that the mortise and tenon design that I had in mind would work - and it did .. very well. Please note that all prototypes shown here are constructed with a 5mm plywood material.  The actual final build of this product will be constructed of solid wood that comes from managed sources that are eco friendly.
